Expanding the Big Lost Campus
Demand for our programming has outgrown existing infrastructure.
For more than 20 years, the Big Lost Campus — located on 13 acres on the Big Lost River outside Sun Valley, Idaho — has given young people a place to explore, connect, challenge themselves, and grow.
As demand for IBC programming has grown, so has the need for a purpose-built and comprehensive campus space to host students and program participants from all over Idaho.
The existing facilities are maxed out. So in 2024, we began a campaign to expand the Big Lost Campus — and with it, expand the opportunities for all children to experience the outdoors.
A Campus for the Next 20 Years of Outdoor Adventure Education
The new campus will include a lodge equipped with a commercial kitchen and rooms, employee housing, and expanded infrastructure designed to support programs in every season — rain or shine.
Together, these improvements will provide Idaho BaseCamp the capacity to double the impact and serve over 50,000 children over the next 20 years.
