Week 1
Monday, June 8th through Thursday, June 11th
Mini M.A.T.
Ages 4-6 | $515.00

This program is designed with our youngest adventurers in mind. Each Mini camp is customized by our staff and many will have exciting and unique themes throughout the week. In any week you could visit roaring waterfalls, tromp through muddy creeks, or even visit the fire station. All Mini camps run from 10am to 4pm; children are transported in 15-passenger vans with provided car seats.
Now That's What I Call Fun! Camp*
Ages 9-11 | $595.00

*Includes a single overnight. Get ready for a week of classic M.A.T. fun! Throughout the summer we will visit our favorite spots, both old and new. Reservoirs, caves, hot springs, cliffs, hikes… and of course, the hidden gems that only we know about. When we’re not out exploring, swimming, hiking, and getting nice and muddy we are likely touring local businesses throughout the Wood River and Sawtooth Valleys.
Mighty M.A.T.

Designed for young adventurers ready for a little more independence, Mighty M.A.T. builds on the Mini program with slightly bigger adventures and new challenges. Each week is customized by our staff and often features exciting, themed experiences. With longer days, expanded outings, and plenty of classic M.A.T. fun, Mighty camps are the perfect next step for campers eager to explore a little farther. All Mighty camps run from 10am to 4pm (unless there is a specified earlier drop-off); children are transported in 15-passenger vans with provided booster seats.

Mini Trailblazers & Explorers NEW!

This camp is all about curiosity and discovery! Campers will head out on mini expeditions to explore local trails, learn simple navigation skills, and follow clues during scavenger hunts and exploration games. Along the way, they’ll search for animal tracks, play nature bingo, and uncover the little details that make the outdoors exciting. With plenty of movement, imagination, and classic M.A.T. fun, this camp is a perfect intro to adventure! All Mini camps run from 10am to 4pm; children are transported in 15-passenger vans with provided car seats.
Cravin' Caves & Hot Springs*

*Includes a single overnight. Your camper will dive into all things underground and geothermal! From exploring hidden caverns and learning how Idaho’s volcanic landscapes were formed to scrambling over rocks, splashing in rivers, and soaking in some of our favorite hot springs, this camp is all about adventure from below the surface up. With plenty of exploration, movement, and classic M.A.T. road-trip vibes, campers are guaranteed a week that’s equal parts discovery, excitement, and relaxation.

Can’t decide if exploring caves or playing in the river is more fun? Good news — your adventurer can do both! We made it easy by combining both these classic Mountain Adventure Tours activities into one special camp. Take a break from the bluebird skies and hot sun to go underground in caves down south— what lurks inside? How were they made? After all that exploring, swimming and splashing is just the ticket to finish off the day in style. Spa Camp: Wellness in the Wild*

**Includes a single overnight. Calling all campers in need of a little rest and relaxation — Spa Camp is open for business! This week is all about slowing down, getting a little messy, and treating ourselves to some wilderness-style self-care. Campers will enjoy mud baths and face masks, soak in hot springs, and brew their own natural teas. Between spa sessions, we’ll find creative ways to unwind in nature while splashing around classic M.A.T. river spots and soaking in the Idaho sun.​

C.I.T. Training

Ready to take it to the next level? This two-day training session is designed to help campers transition into being a Counselor-in-Training (C.I.T.), an essential part of the M.A.T. staff team. C.I.T.s serve as role models for younger campers and help bring the energy, responsibility, and fun that camp is known for. Participants will follow a condensed version of staff training, focusing on leadership, communication, teamwork, and camp operations, opening the door to becoming a leader of their own. ​

This high-energy camp blends movement, imagination, and outdoor play as campers build balance, coordination, strength, and confidence through fun, skill-based challenges. Kids will explore obstacle courses, slacklines, tumbling, cooperative games, and creative performance inspired by circus arts and adventure. Designed to encourage teamwork and courage in a supportive environment, this camp is perfect for young adventurers who love to move, explore, and try new things. Junior Camping 101*

This camp is the ultimate introduction to camping and outdoor adventure. Campers will learn the essentials of what to pack for an overnight trip, how to plan and cook meals outdoors, and how to care for their gear—including setting up tents, packing sleeping bags, and rolling sleeping pads. With new skills in hand, campers will put it all to the test during a dispersed overnight camp in the woods, where they will emerge with newfound confidence and abilities to spend time in the great outdoors.

*Includes five overnights. This epic road trip, led by our Senior Leader Ethan, takes teens from Utah’s alpine Uinta Mountains to the red rock deserts of Moab. Campers will hike, paddleboard, and camp under dark skies before exploring iconic spots like Corona Arch, Fisher Towers, and Arches National Park. A professionally guided canyoneering adventure adds challenge and teamwork, making this trip a perfect blend of independence, discovery, and classic M.A.T. adventure.

Mini Superhero

It's a bird...it's a plane... it's superhero camp! This is the opportunity for your child to invent their own secret identity, choose their magical power, and design their own costume! Along the way they’ll be visiting local heroes from the Police and Fire departments and making up their own "Marvel"-ous adventures with their group out in nature. Junior Wild West*

This multi-day canoe adventure — led by our Senior Leader Ella, who holds a degree in outdoor adventure leadership — is designed for older campers ready to build skills and independence on the water. Campers will learn the fundamentals of canoeing, including basic strokes, water safety, how to recover a capsized canoe, and how to pack and prepare for their epic trip out on an alpine lake.

Wild Skills Adventure Camp (w/ Climbing)*

*Includes a single overnight. Build confidence and independence through essential outdoor skills! Campers will learn fire-making techniques like bow drill and flint knapping, practice cordage and knot tying, build shelters, and explore the basics of camp cooking and outdoor safety. Will they have what it takes to sleep in their shelters during their overnight? We will see! A guided climbing experience adds a physical challenge that builds trust, focus, and confidence while navigating vertical terrain.

"Wildest Dreams": A Swiftie Summer*

Have you always wanted to make and trade friendship bracelets with other Swifties while listening to all of Taylor’s music? Then this unique camp — led by our longest returning female counselor Emma — is for you! We will channel our inner Swifties while horseback riding and having fun in the great outdoors! Karaoke and a screening of the official Eras Tour movie at BaseCamp is also on the agenda. Each day we’ll celebrate Taylor’s different eras (dressing in theme is highly encouraged) while exploring all that the valley has to offer. Only one question… are you Ready For It?​

Mini Treasure Hunters

Arrrrrrr cap’n! Good old-fashioned adventure is the name of the game of this themed camp as we will spend our days searching and seeking for treasure all over the Wood River Valley. Each day will bring new clues, surprises, and twists, so bring your mates and get ready for fun! Just keep an eye on your lunches as they tend to go missing when pirates are afoot… All Mini MAT Camps run from 10 am to 4 pm (no overnights) and children are transported in 15-passenger vans with provided car seats.
Camping Cuisine*

*Includes a single overnight. Spending time in the great outdoors is even more fun when you’ve got great food to go along with all the exploration and playing. We will cover all the basics of camp cooking, including baking tasty treats in a dutch oven and other methods of cooking in the woods! When we’re not filling our bellies and sitting around the campfire, we’ll be working up our appetites by having a whole lot of classic M.A.T. fun!

Mighty Splash Bash w/ Rafting

One of our favorite camps! Here at Mountain Adventure Tours we know how much you all love to get wet, and so do we! Your camper will be the ultimate splasher n’ basher as we take them a step beyond exploring the rivers and lakes of Idaho and go rafting down the Salmon River with a special half-day trip! Forts and Sorts*

*Includes a single overnight. Back by popular demand, Forts and Sorts is a classic Mountain Adventure Tours favorite and a highlight of the summer. Campers will learn how to design and build their own forts using natural materials, then put their creations to the test by sleeping inside them overnight. Along the way, they’ll dive into creative games, challenges, and outdoor play, making this beloved camp a celebration of imagination, teamwork, and everything kids love about MAT.

If your little adventurer loves to explore nature and become friends with all the critters big and small around us, this camp is for them! We may visit the animal shelter, a local farm, or simply find out what insects, fish, and wildlife are hiding in plain sight in the rivers and woods of our valley. Who doesn't like to go explore the rivers and lakes of Idaho on a hot summer day? This camp includes a day trip down the gorgeous Payette River— with a special stop for some hot springs — and an overnight campout right by the water. Campers will spend time on the lake, wander through town, and—of course—make a stop at McCall’s famous Ice Cream Alley. At our BaseCamp location, we have created a camp week of wild adventure and cliff-jumping fun right along the Big Lost River. Your kids will hike, swim, and explore the other side of Trail Creek while building confidence out in nature and making lifelong friends.

*****Includes five overnights. This program is often the culmination of a camper’s childhood M.A.T. journey—a true rite of passage into independence and confidence. The adventure begins at BaseCamp before campers set out on a multi-day backpacking trip to a remote alpine lake. Over three days, campers will hike, carry their own gear, camp under the stars, and fully immerse themselves in life disconnected. After returning to BaseCamp, the group will reflect and celebrate their accomplishment with other Sleep-Away camps. Designed to challenge, empower, and connect, this experience builds resilience, self-confidence, and friendships that last long after the final night around the campfire.

Calling all young dinosaur lovers! This camp invites your child to step back in time as they explore the world of dinosaurs through hands-on games, imaginative play, and outdoor discovery. Campers will hunt for “fossils,” learn about prehistoric creatures, and stomp, dig, and explore their way through nature-filled adventures. With plenty of movement, creativity, and classic M.A.T. fun, this will be a roaring good time for curious young explorers. Lights, Camera, Action: Junior Movie Camp* NEW!

*Includes a single overnight. This creative adventure introduces campers to the magic of filmmaking while keeping them moving and exploring outdoors. Throughout the week, campers will work together to dream up an idea, write a script, act, and help film and edit their own short movie—with guidance from experienced counselors. Between filming sessions, the group will head outside for classic M.A.T. adventures, using the outdoors as both inspiration and backdrop. The week wraps up with a movie screening for parents and families, and campers leave with a hands-on understanding of how stories come to life on screen!

Does your child love to tinker, build, and turn ideas into something real? Each day brings new hands-on challenges as campers design and construct fairy houses, forts, and other nature-built creations using found materials—and may even experiment with simple raft building.
